Job Overview:
Our client has an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Commodity Engineer who will focus on the design and development of new and existing products including value analysis opportunities. You will work with suppliers and Strategic Business Units on new components, circuit designs, etc. This position will lead the procurement team on “lead-free” cut over. You must have an in-depth knowledge of these working components: Resistors, Capacitors, Integrated Circuits, and Printed Circuit Boards.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Strategic Business Unit’s to free up their resources by designing, qualifying, testing and approving new electrical components.
- Identify and execute on various value analysis opportunities.
- Support both engineering and procurement for the “cut-over” to lead-free components.
- Support both engineering and procurement of new product launches, sourcing new components and new technology.
Qualifications:
- BS Electrical Engineering is required.
- 5 to 15 years experience working with these components: Resistors, Capacitors, Integrated Circuits, and Printed Circuit Boards.
- Embedded hardware/software development, microcontrollers.
- Assembly language skills and Value Analysis experience.
- Understand the quality process control and be able to manage multiple priorities.
