Responsibilities:
The Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for selection and development of suppliers to support electronic access solution production and new product development.
- Establish and manage all aspects of supplier selection and development.
- Responsible for overall management of supplier performance, cost, quality and delivery to meet company’s objectives.
- Responsible for cost reduction program to achieve cost targets.
- Manage and ensure that the supply chain for purchased materials is robust to support all sites.
- Establish and manage supplier certification and 2nd source program.
- Provide technical expertise in the development and improvement of existing supplier performance.
- Support global sourcing.
- Work with design engineers to develop appropriate specifications for sourcing electronic and electromechanical products
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in sourcing and supplier development preferably in electrical/electronics industry.
- Good knowledge of electronics, electromechanical supplier base.
- Knowledge of MRP and computer application skills.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 6 Sigma techniques is preferred.
- Understanding of quality systems, Advanced Quality Planning and problem solving (8D).
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Must be analytical and self-motivated.
